Worker Enrichment Program / Pride in Personal Appearance

Warming Center

For the past 25+ years, we have served 10 meals per week, as well as food baskets to those struggling.

Each year, for Thanksgiving, we host a feast of turkey, ham, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, stuffing, cranberries, and pies for dessert.  We served over 300 in our dining room and more than 325 shut-ins through home deliveries, made by volunteers.  We also provide a Christmas Dinner and Party in December, serving over 300 people in the dining room and more than 100 home deliveries.  Gifts are provided to children in attendance, as well as children of incarcerated persons who would otherwise not receive a gift for Christmas.

We provide use of a telephone to find work, and sack lunches for the first two weeks on a new job, so the less fortunate have food to eat at work until they receive their first paycheck and can furnish for themselves.

Free haircuts are provided by a licensed beautician to improve personal appearance and assist in finding work.

When temperatures fall to dangerous levels, we provide a safe, warm place to get out of the cold 24 hours per day.

Jessica Fay's Closet

For the past 20 years, we have given away free clothing, furniture, beds, household supplies, medical equipment, etc., which the community has generously donated to give back to the community.  This is how we help families that can't quite make ends meet.  We have a box truck that we use to take furniture and supplies to those who need them.  We also use the box truck to help people move.
